Without getting into the details, I saw Dr. Leon Benson on Monday after a Friday shoulder operation. A by-product of the surgery was a relatively rare side effect that caused my index finger to meaningfully and painfully increase in size. Leon worked me onto his schedule the same day. Before prescribing a steroid pack that would likely solve the inflammation problem he first called my shoulder surgeon to make sure he was comfortable prescribing steroids so close to my Friday surgery.
