THE STORY OF LENNY’S: Family Owned and Operated for over 40 Years ​My father, Joseph DeCandia, was born in Bari, Italy and came to America in 1956 at the age of 18. He took odd jobs as a dishwasher, a baker and a butcher. In 1958 he took a job at “Lenny’s Pizza” in Brooklyn on 86th Street where he started to learn the pizza business. My first slice was at Lenny's across from Saint Jerome's 25 cents !!! My brother remembers 15 cents a slice there !!! And Mike's Italian Ice around the corner !!!
Have been to Lenny’s a few times and we went last night for our anniversary. What a wonderful experience. The baked clams are awesome but the star of our dinner were the fried scallops. Oh my goodness, they were amazing! They were seasoned but just perfectly so it didn’t overpower the flavor of the scallops and they were perfectly cooked. Service was great. Bus boys are a teeny bit over eager but if that’s the only thing “wrong” I’m perfectly ok with that!

I'm sorry but something has changed within the last month. Maybe new chef? Food tastes different not for the better. Hopefully it gets better we will see
