I was tricked into thinking that I was meeting to sign paperwork for taking my husband of life support. The family agreed to make a few donations. Upon his death I spent the next hour discussing his past and private moments. They try and guilt you into donations and their needs. I specifically said that he was not to leave the hospital premised during the harvest. Found out that my husband spent the day driving all over the state of Alabama. About 5 months ago, my family was harassed by this company. Before my father was even diagnosed brain dead they were already drooling over his organs. My family and I gave them MULTIPLE “no” answers and they saw vulnerability and kept pushing. They would not leave our family alone to grieve the very sudden loss of our family member. They were using extremely manipulative language to get our family to agree to donate. Truly one of the most horrifying experiences we have ever had. We were given false promises. We were in the midst of our grief from losing our daughter unexpectedly. We will never EVER be part of an organ donation again.
