One of a kind – Le Charm has been my favorite restaurant for five years. No other restaurant compares to it in terms of food quality and value, service and charm. The owner is a class act, who always makes her customers feel welcome. The prix fixe menu is expansive -- whatever you choose, you're in for a treat.

beware weekend reservations – Making weekend dinner reservations here? Well beware. I was trying to make a reservation for a birthday. So I give my name and number and she asks for a credit card number without explaining why. When I asked she said they need it to hold reservations on weekends. She didnt mention it would be charged til I questioned further - you get charged for all those who don't show up. if you book for 10 and 1 person doesn't show, you get charged as if they ate -- how? Well weekends are prix fixe menu onl... read more

Solid Bistro Fare at Bargain Prices – Located on 5th Street in the part of SOMA that remains a featureless urban wasteland between the upscale Moscone Center and the newly renovated China Basin, Le Charm is a pleasant diversion in an otherwise unpleasant neighborhood. While the small dining room is only sparsely decorated, the food more than makes up for the somewhat cramped quarters. Featuring delicious, classic French bistro fare, including French Onion Soup, Coquilles St. Jacques, Duck Confit, Seafood Bourride, Crème Brûl... read more

Always nice to come back – I've been to Le Charm many times in a past 4 years. The food is always delicious and the value for the preset menu ($25 for 3 courses in a French restaurant) is incredible. Higly recommend it! Make reservation or come early to avoid waiting.

le charming – Le Charm was really cute and romantic. The prix fixe menu was a good value with lots of selection. The orange creme brulee was awesome. We made reservations but still had to wait a few minutes, then we were put kind of close to the bathroom. There were a few large tables in the main area so maybe that's why. The waitress explained the menu very well without snobbiness.

UGH – We sample lots of SF restaurants and were pleased to use Opentable.com to make rservations to this cute little French bistro. However, after our bread and onion soup (which both were good) the meal went downhill. The duck pate was not good and probably made my dinner partner sick afterwards. The fish that I ordered was tasteless and the portions were exceedingly small. While the ambience inside was nice, it couldn't overcome the poor food. The story of the owner & his wife was great too but this is still one of the few... read more

Le Yum – This place ruled. Everything we had was great and a steal! Even the wine list is reasonable. Try to get a table on the patio. The lamb was prepared perfectly--baa. Steak had great sauce. And the potatoes could be an entree solo. The dessert is every dieter's nightmare--try the apple tart or chocolate mousse. Warning: this place may actually cause you to like the French.
