My first visit to University Dermatology went very well; I couldn't be happier. After over thirty years with David Lockman, who recently retired, I was apprehensive about starting over with a new doctor. But whatever concerns I might have had were almost immediately minimized as Dr. Whalen's welcoming approach put them to rest.
Had several raised brown spots on my scalp that were pretty worrisome. After my appointment with Dr. Whalen I am so relieved. She quickly diagnosed them as Seborrheic keratosis, froze them with liquid nitrogen and within 10 days they were completely gone. Absolutely one of the most down to earth, relatable physicians I have ever visited. Very knowledgeable, and immediately put me at ease and addressed any concerns I had. Will definitely use her office moving forward and recommend them to any in need of a great dermatologist.
Very thorough examination & very knowledgeable
Dr. Whalen is an amazing dermatologist. She has such a kind, friendly, caring demeanor, but more importantly, I feel she is a very thorough, experienced doctor who listens. After several visits to a supposedly "voted best" dermatology practice in the area, I am flabbergasted and very suspicious of the large numbers of 5-star reviews, because my experience was awful. Caring and really spends time listening to concerns.
Dr. Whalen is a knowledgeable physician. She diagnosed my problem with ease. She treated it then and there. No need to get extra appointments. She is so very kind and smiles all the time. She remembered me from visits with my mother. She allowed me to give input and responded to me while at a visit with my mother. She is a terrific doctor. I wish she were a primary care provider, I would go to her for all my healthcare needs. Her staff is kind and caring.
I found her to be very personal and was please with the completeness of the screening.
