Dr Gersten is a very caring excellent Doctor! I recommend him highly! He’s the BEST!
Dr Gersten really cares about how his patients are doing. He doesn't rush thru the appt and treats me as a person, not just a knee. He explains and makes sure any questions are answered and understood.
Dr. Getrsten was very helpful. He examined me and gave me a referral to another doctor who could perform my knee surgery.
I really, really like Dr. Gersten. He answers, in detail, every question I ask and never seems in a hurry. He replaced my hip 7 years ago and I've had no problems with it since. Now he is dealing with the arthritis in my knee and removal of screws after a break. I highly recommend him.
I first saw Dr. Gersten ~15 years ago for Arthroscopic cleanup of an old meniscus repair in my right knee - this went well but almost didn’t happen due to his dismissiveness of what was not visible in X-rays (I pushed for an MRI and the problems became evident). My next visit was about 9 years ago for hip pain - again, X-rays indicated no trouble (in the hip), but did reveal a condition in my back. Over time, my hip issues deteriorated. And, by the way, Dr. Gersten did replace my left hip 4 years ago and I've had no trouble with it since.
I visited this guy, he recommended an injection subject to insurance approval,& the insurance didn't approve,he referred me for a bone density test,& the result was sent to him by the lab. After these procedures in order to discuss my case with Larry Gersten I called & left messages well over 20 times with no success, none were returned.This man thinks he is above the patients, referring to this person for a health solution is an insult to the patient,as he does not have a physician's etiquette.
I had a much needed right full knee replacement Oct. 2018 & was skiing January 2019, 3 months later! Dr. Gersten was very "buttoned up", his staff was outstanding. Going in for my left knee soon! I have great trust in Dr. Gersten. If joint pain compromises your quality of life, you need to see Dr. Gersten!
In 2014, Dr. Gersten, together with Dr. Montgomery from SCOS, performed knee revision surgery on my right knee. They were supposedly Monarch Network's best orthopedic knee revision specialists. I was optimistic to have the revision because I was concerned about the looseness, inflammation and pain after my original surgery in 2001. Instead, I was disappointed to find little change. Dr. Gerston performed another revision, but still no change, only a longer stem and less bone for future use.
