Went here for my bday dinner and was so disappointed. We were seated quickly because they were not busy. Sat for a while and no one greeted us or came to get drink orders. Other people were coming in after us getting their drinks before us. Finally our waitress came and apologized and offered free desserts right away for the trouble. Me and my date ordered steak, baked potato and coleslaw. After waiting a long time we got our meal and took one bite of the coleslaw and it was rotten. Best Place In Tryon. Just saying
We arrived at just around 8pm and were seated quickly. The first thing our server did as she greeted us was look at her watch and sigh. I had the French dip philly style and my husband had prime rib. The sandwich was good as well as his prime rib other than it was cold. There is no ambiance at all in the restaurant, no real decor, just tv’s hanging on the wall and once in a while some radio music could be heard faintly. I have been there a few times and the food was not bad but, the last two times I have stood waiting to be seated for over 10 minutes both times . Not a waitress nor a hostess walked by .Both times I have just left in anger. The first time I thought it might have just been a fluke but once it happend again I was done. I won't try a third time. Both instances were around 130pm so the place was not busy. Very disappointed.
The food was good but everyone was a little stressed. The busboy spilled plates he was clearing all over the floor and my purse. No one ever came to clean it up. When I went looking for paper towels to clean up my bag, there were none available in the bathroom. I had to ask 3 times for extra lemons. The server was not exactly friendly. It was Mother's day but it wasn't that busy. We liked the atmosphere so we will give it another try.
When I’m traveling I love finding different places to eat that I wouldn’t find at home. The service was really good, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious.
Third times isn’t the charm. This is the third time I’ve said “we’re never coming back”. Service was so bad this time we gave up and left. What a shame ...
