The Bayou Vermilion District is an excellent organization with a wonderful staff that works to preserve and manage sites along the Vermilion River. They operate a Living History Museum and host many events that promote the culture of South Louisiana. The Bayou Vermilion District, unaffiliated with the Vermilion Parish School Board, is a commendable organization that seeks to preserve both cultural and environmental assets in LAFAYETTE Parish.
The BVD staff is an exceptional group who work day in and out to preserve Lafayette's environment and cultural economy by protecting the land and water surrounding the Vermilionville Living History Museum. I've witnessed them working in the rain and floods to protect others. They deserve the support not only from our own communities but from all.

The Bayou Vermilion District does an excellent job of education and conservation of our beautiful Bayou Vermilion. You should put a tour of Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park on your bucket list, along with lunch at Vermilionville's La Cuisine de Maman and a Sunday Fais Do Do in the Performance Center.
