Things change....change is hard....but La Playa endures..I love this place. It is a special part of Gulf Place. Sitting outside last night under a heater, listening to Forrest Williams, sharing a grouper sandwich....where’s a better place to spend a January evening on 30A?
Had a great time dancing last night. Even danced in the rain at the end!!! Food was amazing ( I had tuna salad )
There have been some changes at La Playa over the last month or so, and I am loving what they are doing! The bar in the back is now gone, it will be something else. So it's all about the front patio. They put in a garage door so the inside flows right out into the big patio with beach views. It is now counter service and the menu is more like a Chipotle and the nachos are AMAZING! Service was slow....food was not that good for the price and server put 8 peoples orders on 1 bill and would not separate. Music was the only thing they had going for them. If you pay to bring in Great music to bring in business I would think you should be able to handle the flow of customers or what’s the point?
Food was ok, service was slow.........tabs at our table were all screwed up and they automatically added gratuity but didnt mention it to the table. Band was great
Despite all the bad reviews we went anyway to have lunch. This place is right under where we are staying and decided to give it a try. The service was pretty decent, drinks are excellent and the food was fantastic! It was a good experience over all so good we decided to do it again the next day! If you like eating right by the ocean and getting tipsy off delicious drinks this is the place!.
Well it seems like this place has gone way down hill from a year ago. As a local teacher, we look forward to having many happy hours there, but never again. How on earth do you get charged $8 on a $20 bill, then have the manager tell you the tip is based off of regular prices, not happy hours prices? No, dipshit, the tip is based off the total bill. That is a 40% tip! Now, I have no problem paying a tip based off the party size, but this was total BS and when it was POLITELY brought to the managers attention, his response...... read more
Terrible service. Never been treated so rude. I absolutely don't recommend this restaurant.
One of the best restaurants in the area and by far the most fun!!!! Awesome service, delicious food, great drinks. Can't wait to go back!
