My friend and I were first time visitors to NYC this last weekend for her birthday! We stayed right between Little Italy and Chinatown. By the time we got settled in our room, it was 8pm. We went out to seek food. After walking into a couple and seeing they were packed, we strolled into La Mela. The chicken picatta was fabulous. But the people were even better. We felt like part of the family and went back every night. We will definitely be going back for a visit and stopping here again!
Food was fantastic from calamari to clams on half shell which they didn't have on menu but made them up for us eggplant parm was to die for and so was linguine with clam sauce great night !
They have a stone mounted to the wall that says, "Shutup, sit down and eat." When you go there be prepared for a lot of great Italian food. The wait staff is very friendly. Well worth the trip to Little Italy.
Best place on Mulberry!! Great food and good people. Love the conversation and hope to come back. Thanks for the laughs and wonderful meal. Bravo!!
The absolute hands down best in NYC.Be sure to try the Chicken n garlic
I was traveling with a group of five very lively ladies and none of us were disappointed! We ate family style and absolutely loved the Little Italy atmosphere. The food was great, but the service and people were even better! If I make it back to NYC I'd definitely visit again.
Amazing spot. Friendly staff, excellent food. They even turned down the pipe music to let me play my melodica!
