Slimy athletic club, DO NOT become a member. I have had to put my membership on hold and LA fitness now charges 10 dollars a month to put a membership on hold. I unfortunately had surgery and I am handicapped for the next 6 months. I tried outright cancelling membership and was told we only accept cancellations with a walk-in or by USPS. Never mind I have had multiple emails with them and they have my phone number on file for verification.

This location is negligent with machine upkeep. There are only 4 stair machines in entire gym. 2 of 4 have been broken down for months. One is literally 5 months and counting. It is really frustrating, none of the other local LA Fitnesses are this slow/negligent.

Horrible handling of covid-19 contracts. I have been getting charged $180 each month even though my account has been FROZEN due to a personal training contract. I explained that my husband was high-risk and that we could not come into the gym right now, but they were completely unsympathetic. They said that I could use my training credits when I am able to come back into the gym, but ONLY if I pay a $40 monthly fee on top of my monthly dues for the right to use credits that I would have already paid for. I am so disappointed with the customer service at La Fitness . First off let me say when they want you to join they are all over that .We signed up for the club right before covid . We also signed up for personal training . We did two training sessions and the club shut . We kept hoping COVID would get better , but that hasn’t happened. Gym is amazing, modern and clean. Best gym I have ever joined. Unfortunately, there is an honesty issue. The woman that signed me up said "the membership is "x" per month". "OR you can pay for the entire year for "x" and save. The amount was BS $ so I paid for the year, and I personally have an issue with my cards being charged monthly. *NOTE* This is explained in a way that will get the point across that this man is a creep and should be terminated from being a trainer. So this may not be in order of events but the most crucial is first. THE WORST MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY EVER. i JOINED AND WAS DISGUSTED BY THE CLUB AS I TRIED TO GO TWICE BEFORE COVID AND THE INSTRUCTORS NEVER SHOWED UP TO TEACH THE COURSE - I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT AND KEPT GETTING CHARGED. I FINALLY GOT THROUGH AND THEY REIMBURSED ME IN JUNE OF 2020. TODAY, FEBRUARY 16 2021 I AM BEING CHARGED AGAIN - WHAT DO THEY THINK I WILL NOT NOTICE? They offer a clean working health club, most of the equipment is broken or has been broken for months, no attempts to fix any and when question and compare other LA fitness around the area the answer this is round lake. I guess my fee every month is not worth in the round lake area.
