My wife and I joined LA Fitness (Dunedin, FL) last January. I signed up for personal trainer services (Jan-June). We enjoyed the quality of the Club and Trainer instruction up until LA Fitness closed due to the virus risk. Our LA Fitness reopened yesterday May 25. This company has made no effort to help those individuals who cannot leave home to cancel their membership. Their staff claims that they must see the person face to face to cancel. We are in a time where this is completely unnecessary, especially because this company did not make itself visible face to face for months. I have tried to cancel my membership for 2 months. I started going to health clubs in the 1960's. I am retired Chicago lawyer who moved to Arizona in 2012. LA Fitness kept charging me monthly dues even though the clubs were closed. I tried calling and was left on hold forever. LA Fitness only respects an Attorney General complaint. When you join you will be constantly harassed to buy more programs or up-grade your membership. They need to have zero stars as an option here but in Summery- I got a free membership do to the fact that I'm on disability. Went for the first time and decided to sign up for a year of personal training sessions, so I would know what I can and can't do for my body. During the sign up process I told them that I have a lot of health problems and asked what happens if I was unable to continue training?
