I have been a member of LA Fitness since they opened in *************. In 2021 I decided to cancel membership. Spoke to someone at gym they cancelled membership. But I was still getting charged. Spoke to someone on phone. They looked at account and said it had not been closed by suspended. So I asked them to close it. This happened several times. Lost $800 in 30 days with esporta in ********. They told me I can sign up for personal training for $65 bucks and cancel anytime. I tried personal training for a month and it was rushed and trainer did not ask me any questions. I tried to cancel personal training and they said I signed up for a yearly contract so I have to pay $740 and that each month of training is $165. Um what???? This was not explained to me. I tried to tell them it was a misunderstand with but they were ruthless. I left the gym crying.

This gym is extremely filthy. When I arrive in the morning, there are sweat stains on the equipment, trash and dirt all over the floors. Not a sanitary place to workout, which can cause health problems. I am contemplating cancellation.

A little over two months ago I decided to cancel my membership. I was told that I could either cancel in person or via email. Naturally, I chose email, the much easier option, and am regretting it to this day. I included every bit of personal information that might be necessary for a cancellation except for an email address, then not remember which email address they had on file, emailed from the wrong one. Hi,I wanted to make you all aware of the awful attitude of the manager at the *********** Esporta fitness location. I have tried for a couple of months to cancel my membership. With my busy schedule I have dropped in at different times only to be told the manger is the only person who can cancel and is either not in or on a call. I signed up for a personal training contract and was ensured by their sales rep that it is month to month, and I can cancel if it is not the right move for me. The contract allows 3 days to cancel, yet the sales rep assigned me to a trainer that was not available for 3 weeks after signing up; therefore, I could not evaluate. Horrible cancellation policy. Deceptive business practices. You should allow customers to cancel by phone, text, email. Having a customer come to the gym to cancel a plan if there is no contract is very shady. You can confirm identity by last 4 digits of card used last 4 of license #, last ssn# etc by phone. Never again!

My partner and I are a gay/trans couple looking for a safe place to get fit and healthy. Signed up for the gym membership with no problem and then decided to do the free PT eval since we were interested in more guidance. My elderly father was happy I purchased him a membership at this location to regain his health. They convinced him to buy a weekly training package. They consistently canceled his sessions due to a lack of staff to the point he was behind 25 sessions in 6M. They fired and changed trainers like you change underwear. They did not give him a booklet as promised until 6 months. Had 0 check-ins and most trainers sat on their phones and did nothing. The ones who did leave or were fired.
