These scam artists sold us a family membership plan where my wife and I both signed an agreement. After 2 years of everything going fine, this guy (Felix) suddenly declares me to be a “guest” who can only come in with the primary account holder, my wife. They make you print a form and mail it in to cancel your membership. My printer is broken; there is Covid 19 in the air; and I just cancelled my Youtube TV seemlessly over the internet so the technology is there. LA Fitness should have an option to easily cancel without printing and mailing, especially right now.

I was going to the LA Fitness location in Downey and everything was well until covid happened. They were charging for my training. Then the shut down. Then in a reopening I get a call about my training and the balance due so they charge me when I had no idea it was open. I called and said I want to cancel and when I signed up the person said I can cancel at anytime and the gym would pay for half. So apparently that was a lie. I was essentially pressured into buying a personal training membership here to the point where they would NOT let me leave until I said yes. I am a part time minimum wage employee and the agent that was helping me had to bring 3 people to try to convince me to buy. Even suggested I stop feeding my dog so I can afford this membership but that's not even the worst part. Hanover Park, IL LA Fitness Chris L, the personal training manager, had me wrongly sign the wrong personal training contract. I was under the assumption that it was a 3 month personal training contract @ $180 a month, but I was frustrated and shocked to find out it was locked in for a year. When I had spoke to the front desk to cancel my contract, they told me to wait for Chris who created the contract, would come in tomorrow. No luck. I am a current member of LA FITNESS. I was diagnosed with COVID in December, I placed my membership on a complimentary "Freeze." Three months later I was notified of an outstanding balance. No one at the location level (Operations Mgr.) was able to assist me and I was given the LA Corporate number to no avail. The wait on hold has been unreasonable and no further contact information is available. This business is showing no accountability.

Slimy athletic club, DO NOT become a member. I have had to put my membership on hold and LA fitness now charges 10 dollars a month to put a membership on hold. I unfortunately had surgery and I am handicapped for the next 6 months. I tried outright cancelling membership and was told we only accept cancellations with a walk-in or by USPS. Never mind I have had multiple emails with them and they have my phone number on file for verification.

This location is negligent with machine upkeep. There are only 4 stair machines in entire gym. 2 of 4 have been broken down for months. One is literally 5 months and counting. It is really frustrating, none of the other local LA Fitnesses are this slow/negligent.
