The second Dallas restaurant by Oscar and Laura Sanchez, the first being La Calle Doce in Oak Cliff, this eatery specializes in seafood with a Mexican twist. The menu also has a number of Tex-Mex offerings. Starting with the popular appetizers like ceviche and calamari with chipotle cream, you can move on to a full Mexican spread. Many shrimp, scallop and oyster dishes are served in a spicy cocktail sauce that is an absolute treat to the taste buds. There are many varieties of tacos, and the Tex-Mex section of the menu has s... read more

Best mexican in Dallas! – This place is amazing! I went for lunch and loved the atmosphere and then also went with friends and got margaritas! This place is conveniently located in the heart of Lakewood and 5 min from Uptown Dallas. Not only is this fresh Mexican food but they have amazing seafood dishes as well!
great mexican! – la calle doce is one of my favorite restaurants and i make it a point to eat there whenever i'm in dallas! the margaritas are tasty and strong, and the micheladas are the best i've ever had! i always start with the fondue cancun, a creamy, cheesy, melt in your mouth concoction with bits of shrimp - but make sure you share it because it is a meal in itself! the ceviche is also delicious. the servers are very accommodating and the atmosphere feels a bit upscale and artsy while remaining comfortable and afforda... read more
Great Mexican Seafood!! – My Favorite Mexican Restaurant!! It's newly remodeled and they did a great job with interior - an inviting bar, beautiful blue floors, more booths, and even a dining area on the second floor. The service was great, looked after us very well and the margaritas were delicious. We began with Ceviche and Quesadilla Suprema, which were fantastic and I had Salmon Tacos and those were great. They also have a brunch menu on the weekend that 's delicious with good deals on mimosas and Happy Hour every aftern... read more
Very Bad Dinner! – My experience at La Calle Doce was a huge let down. Our waiter got our drinks wrong to start. Margaritas were strong but that is probably to make you forget about the dreadful service, awful food and the lack of ambiance. Queso was a velveeta mixture...was hoping for something with a bit more flare. Enchiladas were run of the mill. A very basic strip mall mexican restaurant. I won't be going back when a fast food restaurant will give me the same quality including the attitude filled staff. Very unsatisfied... read more
Horrible experience, don't waste your time – We've had a few average dinners at La Calle Doce but after our last experience we will never dine there again. The front of house staff didn't greet us as we stood at the front entrance and then was sarcasticly rude when we asked if there was a wait. There were plenty of open tables and people waiting which tells me they don't know how to seat people and they don't know how to hire a reception staff...very annoying to wait for a table when i can see open tables in the dinning area... read more
Nice for enchiladas – We like to come here for lunch for a few reasons. First, not only do they have a special lunch menu, they also have daily specials on the board when you walk in, so be surenot to miss those. Service has always been very nice and attentive and the owner also makes sure the ship is running smoothly. Now, this is more of a Mex Mex spot, than Tex Mex (hello, seafood). I only say that because I advise against the queso. We suspect it's actually condensed canned soup with no cheese at all. I've also had enchi... read more
Maybe They Had An Off Night??? – SKILLMAN LOCATION - We can't understand all the rave reviews on this place. Maybe we went on a bad night for them, but we were totally disappointed. The surroundings were cramped and a display cabinet with wooden doors kept coming open (all 3 doors) and menus crammed inside for storage kept falling out on the floor. Husband ended up sticking sugar packets in the doors to get them to stay shut and avoid someone being injured. The Calamari was good. Had that as an appetizer. Ordered Tacos Al Ca... read more
Reminds me of Austin – I love this place! I've only dined at La Calle Doce a few times, but everytime I've gone, I've had a great experience. The atmosphere reminds me of Austin and I'm an Austinite! Margarita's are strong and not too sweet! Great place!
Best Margarita & Ceviche – If you like your margaritas made the real way and plenty strong, but don't want to pay a premium for them, this is the place to go! Fresh tasting with quality tequila and not for the weak, but still under $7. Ceviche is always fresh, made with plenty of tomato, cilantro and that extra squeeze of lime. Eat with chips or crackers and for a small eater like me, it's a meal in itself.
La Calle Doce has a 4.4 star rating with 1,635 reviews.
