Great Value, Great Food – Excellent portions for your buck. If you're looking for a casual Italian meal, this place will suit you well. Wait staff is always friendly and the food is always great.
La Buca . . . – There is something to be said about the corner bistro, and La Buca is a good example of what that should epitomize. Good food at a good price. Seating is prompt, unless you go during the meal-time rush on the weekends, but generally you can be seated without the wait. Good portions of traditional pastas with the flair of the Pacific NW. You know how some Italian places smother everything with cheeses and sauces? Not so here. Everything is prepared with spices, sauces that are not overpowering but enhancing to... read more
Neighborhood spot serves quality pasta at inexpensive prices. – In Short This airy order-up-front-and-be-seated restaurant caters to champagne tastes on a beer budget. Patrons are pleasantly surprised by the fluffy, sprightly plates of mixed greens, lit up by a vinaigrette. The main offerings involve pastas or grilled panini, and range from a foundational spaghetti with olive oil, to an extravagant, three-cheese ravioli with basil pesto. And the penne with creamy tomato sauce proffers sausage with just a bit of a bite.
I've Been There on a Few Occasions – While the food is good and wine is served in a simple short water glass that compliments the decor, I wouldn't mind a fresher Caesar or slightly larger portions to go with the all around experience. No frills, no doubt!
10 better places to eat!!! – We decided to walk "restaurant row" on 28th. It was Friday nite and we were expecting to go somewhere with character and some pazzaz, we walked up and down 28th, but all the other restaurants we had our hearts set on were full and my friends were really hungary and there was plenty of room at La Buca... That should of been our first sign that it was going to be a dull dinner but we decided to try it anyway. Our server had the personal of a couch and the food wasn't much better, it's your typical ... read more
Great Food! – Not some place I would go for a date, but this place is awsome for the food. Order take-out, and eat at home with a bottle of wine. Very cheap also, considering how good the food is. Food is ready astonishingly quick also.
Great find – Ran across this place when going to the Aladdin theatre. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Food was great which is rare for Italian restaurants in Portland. Service was casual, a little unprofessional but friendly. You can get a bunch of "small plates" and get very full, fast. Recommend highly.
Fantastic – This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland! Excellent food at a very affordable price and the services has always been wonderful. The restaraunt did used to be order at the counter, but now a waiter comes to your table. Everything I have tried at La Buca was great!
Great food, great price – The thought of the Caesar salad makes me wistful and the ravioli is just right, all for about the right price. The waitresses are patient with annoyingly-demanding dates, though it seems a lot of parents are abusing this patience, as the place seems jam-packed with kiddies of late.
