We hired Kottman's Tree Service in Florissant, MO to cut down 4 trees. The workers successfully cut down 2 trees but lost control of the 3rd tree. The 3rd tree fell through the window in the back of our home causing over $10K in damages. Accidents can happen but what upset us the most is the way in which the owner treated us, his customers. He never extended an apology or an attempt to amend things; he only did the bare minimum which was to provide his insurance information and demanded payment for the devastating job.
One of Don's crew members rammed into the back of my car at a stoplight, completely totaling it. Long story short, THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE INSURANCE! We contacted him shortly after the accident and he asked us to get some quotes so he could pay for the damages out of pocket. I did just that, but have not heard anything since then. It has been about 2 weeks and we've had the police officer that was on scene, our insurance agent, and lawyer all trying to contact him, and we have yet to receive any response. We hired Kottman tree service to remove a tree in our backyard, I was told it would take 2 days to remove. Kottman tree service should up for the first time on 7/29/16 late in the afternoon and only worked 3 hours which included a break for supper, they stated they would be back the following day to continue the work. However, only one crew member returned the next morning to pick up the saws & ropes, no work was done on the tree that day and no future date of them returning was given.
