Great location, good food – Kona Grill is one of the best places to eat in Cherry Creek. Their patio is great, it's covered so you can sit there throughout the year. It's always packed though so it's very hard to get a table out there. The dining room was very nice, with great booths. Good food Bad service – Good food, bad service. I've been there twice for the California Rolls, they are delicious. The problem is that the service is so bad. I went a second time with friends, our appetizer came out with no plates not silverware, and our drinks were not delivered yet. Best burger & fries ever... – I love hamburgers, just love 'em and try 'em everywhere I go. If you've never had a Kona Grill burger and fries, you are truly missing Denver's finest! The burger is so big I usually split it with whomever I go there with.....you simply cannot eat one by yourself. Needs to learn how to cook a filet med-rare – I was there last night Sun 2/11 and the service was slow, though there weren't many customers, so I'm not sure why. I ordered the filet med-rare and it came out quiet rare. I had to send it back and I noted to the waitress to make sure they do not cook it med, but be sure to stop at med-rare. Not worth it – Our experience at Kona Grill was sub-par. For starters we were sat at a tiny table next to the kitchen, other than that the ambiance of the restaurant seemed nice enough but the food was nothing to write home about. We had several different sushi choices, each was average. We also tried the diablo shrimp which was poorly described on the menu, it should have read "shrimp prepared like hot wings" and the avocado egg rolls which were very bland without the dipping sauce. Great appetizers. – My husband and I went there for lunch the other day and, as a vegetarian, I was supprised that I found such yummy things to have. My husband had the sushi, which he said was very tasty and fresh! I had a salad and the avacado eggrolls...Yummy! We'll have to venture there for dinner some night.
Not worth the money – We were there for lunch last week and we were one of the first to be seated. Our food came out late and my son's pizza was burnt. They took off the price of the pizza, but it was all really bad. We had to wait so long for food that was hardly edible. The manager knew of the situation, but only took off the price of the pizza which my son could not eat. It seems this must happen a lot. great happy hour – Get there early because it gets crowded, and has limited bar area and outdoor seating. Wine least is above average, and reasonably priced especially for happy hour. Four people walked away with a $49 tab, with one drink and ample bar menu eats for each of us. The spicey tuna, and smoke salmon maki were good but not awe inspiring. The two sake offerings are not great. The one I had was ginjo, but made in California. It had better flavor closer to room temperature instead of chilled as presented.
