Thai food is one of the choicest cuisines in San Francisco. With the many Thai restaurants in the city, visitors and locals are always searching for something better. Koh Samui & The Monkey is among the best in town. Walking through the door, you'll feel transported to ancient Thailand. The restaurant is decorated with exquisite and rare antiques, hand picked by the owner. Servers are in traditional Thai costumes, creating an authentic atmosphere. Their fried calamari and crispy imperial rolls are excellent. There's a wide v... read more

koh Samui is the best – Ate @ Koh Samui and the Monkey last night again. Great food and service as usual. We never under stand those people who write bad reviews about them. Have these people ever been to Thailand or see any other Thai restaurant in town as busy as Koh Samui. Koh Samui is always packed for lunch and dinner because their food is the best in town.
What a waste... – ...of money, time and fuel. A friend (who probably ate here a LONG time ago) recommended it, and we went despite the crappy recent ratings. Now we've tried our hand at some thai dishes, and let me tell you -- this restaurant has the unenviable talent of rendering even the easiest and tastiest dishes bland and inedible. There are simply too many good thai restaurants in SF to waste your time and money here. The service staff was reasonably nice, when they did finally make an appearance.
Food and service was differrent from before!! – First time we were there on Valentine's Day. We got a great table near the window. It was very romantic. We didn't know what to order. Luckly we had a very nice waiter who helped us on our ordering. We had this pre fixed meal and it was delicious. It was alot of food but it was worth it . The service was excellent. So when we went back it was totally different. We wanted to try something new, so we asked the waitress what kind of beef dish that was spicy and was the best , and ... read more
Can I get some service ?? – Me and my boyfreind went there because our freind recommended us, so we were expecting good service. But I was so dissapointed when I got very poor service. We couldn't even understand what she was telling us. I have to wave to her to get her attention and that really bothers me. I'm just going to tell you this. Not just the food that makes customers come back, but it's also the service. So this restaurant is so lack of service.
never again – This is the worst thai food I've ever experienced. The four dishes we tried ranged from unbalanced flavors, tasteless to inedible. The experience was all ambience and no substance.
Best Thai in SF – We've been to Koh Samui now 4 or 5 times, and it just keeps getting better. We just had the best thai food I've ever experienced. The sea bass green curry was sublime. The beef red curry was equally to die for. The wine list is quite good for an asian restaurantm, and you can almost always get a table. I don't know why this place is still relatively undiscovered, as it has replaced Manora in our book.
SUPERB! – Every dish I have tried is immaculately prepared and tastes wonderful. The service is prompt, I've never waited more than about 15 minutes after ordering to get my food. Usually less than that! The only issue is parking in the evenings since this place gets busy...overall, best Thai food in the city!
This spacious SoMa destination mixes Thai dining with 21st-century design. – The Scene Celadon-green paint cleverly masks the concrete walls and soothes the spirit, while dark-wood panels intricately carved with elephants and deities bring more exotic locales to mind. From warm greetings at the door to pleasantly proffered wine tips, the entire waitstaff embodies the famed Thai friendliness, in a chic, modern setting. The Food The kitchen's fresh, herb-infused renditions of everyone's favorite Thai food (think pad thai and g... read more
great thai – Excellent thai food, and beautifully designed dining room. 10 of us went in late on Friday, and dined family style. Almost every dish was flavorful, and enjoyed by all. The bill came to $25 per person, including a couple of bottles of wine, and three courses. Well worth it.
