The heat inside the convention center was absurd. For a venue as large as Fanboy, the lack of adequate AC should not have been a topic of discussion. I've been attending every year since back in the old Adventurecon days, and have never had such a poor experience. My wife and kids made did not attempt waiting in any lines for autographs, made one pass through, and left. Really enjoyed all the cosplayers, artists, and vendors. Happy with the art pieces we bought and the kids loved getting the figures they wanted.
Well it was to hot needed air in there, printer wasn’t working right waited 2 hrs for pics had to leave then come back.duo package was $128 for bsb they literally told u go go couldn’t spend but like 5 seconds with them.wish I had more time for the money I spent.
The AC could not keep up. For a place that size, I can't believe it wasn't designed for that many people. Also, one of the 2 food places was closed. The other was very busy until 5. There is not adequate parking nearby for the venue. The Locust St. Garage was full but they didn't shut it off early enough so we ended up going clear to the top to a dead end, then back out. It's a terrible garage design.
It was more comfortable walking the streets of Knoxville than trying to endure the lack of AC in this building. Restrooms were hidden treasures. I looked for food and the line was 30 mins plus just to order garbage concession food. I was looking for a price gouging vending and was willing to pay but none were found. I eventually left the facility because of the B.O. produced from no AC. I loved the location and surrounding area but I would never recommend this facility.
Fanboy was great! But it was hotter than the 10th level of hell in there! Hello we’re in Knoxville Tennessee!! What idiot turns the air off at night during a major convention?
The center was great!! But the fanboy comic con Didn’t have their stuff in a roll!! We paid a lot of money for fan packages and we still didn’t get our picture from meeting Peter Cullen!
If you expect that many people and ac can not accommodate, please furnish Water instead of selling it for $3 a bottle in 1 location. Also, more available sitting areas.
