I do not understand any good reviews here and share the same experience as those giving bad reviews. Our experience has been dismal. An abandoned job. Money taken without work done. Just a nightmare. Please beware of this company. Well it’s been 2 weeks and as a result of threatening to sue, the KB shop group finally got the inspector ( I had to call LA building dept myself) and we had ONE day of new work. Awful. Farid is the worst manager and a big liar. Arranging a meeting and showing up 1(!) hour late. And you will be incredibly lucky if they’ll put you in their “busy”calendar in 2 weeks. Trying to sell you their designer service. Promising to provide a quote ASAP and disappearing for 2-3 weeks. Just wasted my time and lost money. Because a month after he said that they can’t work on my project. Why he can’t he say it earlier? God knows! Do not recommend to anyone.
This has been an outrageous experience. What was supposed to be a three-month project is now at six months, and not even halfway done. In the past month, there have been workers on site maybe one or two days—at most. The GC is impossible to reach: phone calls go unanswered and messages are rarely replied to. They lie constantly. Every time we ask for an update, they say work will start tomorrow—but when we show up, no one is there, and they won’t answer calls either. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
This has been an extreme frustrating and hopeless situation I put myself into. After more than 2 months of renovation, my house looks like this. It's been 3.5 months, floor, paint, lighting, kitchen, nothing is completed. Workers just randomly no show, sometimes 16 days in a row, you just can't get them. No matter what you say or do. Mark, Farid, and everyone at KBS were terrific. They did everything we asked, and our kitchen looks amazing. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
