Allow students to use Medicare....
I am very disappointed by the recent change in the policy to ban Medicaid as a valid insurance for students. I feel the explanation is very useless as well as completely misinformed/dishonest. I hope to see a change for a benefit of many students.
Wonderf school.... here is a quote from the school Pres. “if you like the companionship of the Holy Ghost, you’ll LOVE BYUI!”.
I can't recommend as of recent development not allowing students to have Medicaid as their primary insurance provider. for a school full of newlywed and people with small children following the church's advice not to postpone having a family, you'd think that they'd allow the insurance that they can actually afford. a family plan through the school is over $2k and many do not make enough per year to qualify for a private provider or simply can't afford a private plan. BYU Idaho's decison to not admit students on Medicaid makes Jesus cry.

The decision to remove medicaid was the last straw for me. As an alumni, I always struggled with various aspects of the school. But this decision, how it was released, and the reasoning (or lack thereof) behind it is just appalling to me.
BYU-Idaho’s decision to no longer accept Medicaid is simply ridiculous. For some Medicaid is their only viable option. Why force students to pay for a plan that’s not even federally accepted? If the school wants to force students to pay for their health plan and not accept Medicaid, then then they should make the health plan actually realistic INSURANCE!!
