When my father passed away, there was a mistake in his obituary. I called to let him know that my father had three daughters, but they would not add my name. It was an embarrassment to my family.
I would normally say that the staff of JC Kirby is very considerate of the needs of those that are experiencing loss but not this time. I attended the funeral of a family member recently at the Lovers Lane location. I understand that we are still dealing with the whole Covid thing but when there are family members, BLOOD RELATIONS, that are pleading to get in to the room to attend the funeral of their loved one and being denied entry because the staff won't ask non-relatives to leave is a disgraceful thing to do and experien... read more

Hi, TC. We are so sorry you had a bad experience. We know how hard losing a loved one can be. The staff requested the spouse of the deceased to personally select individuals that would be seated in the main chapel due to current restrictions and guidelines, with others being allowed to in the overflow chapel to watch via television. We work closely with the immediate family to determine what is the best way to allow others to pay their respects to the deceased, while still adhering to CDC and state guidelines. Our experience with them when our son Mike passed in Nov. of 2015 was very positive. We could not have asked for more love and care at that time.
