My husband was at Kindred, in the ICU, for 2 months. He had THE BEST care!! He was very ill when he was transferred from another hospital and took a really bad turn. The doctors and nurses, as well as the RTs kept a very close eye on him. His doctor , Dr. Naeem, seemed to have been at the hospital constantly during those critical hours. My sister was transferrred to Kindred on Monday, Tuesday evening she was dead. She was making progress until the transfer. For some reason she was given 5ml of haldol by injection and then followed with morphine intravenous 20 minutes later. Over heard conversation between nurses saying it may have been too much haldol. Then after a short time she was given narcan. The care that my mother recieved at kindred tomball was amazing!!! From the nurses, doctors, cnas and wound care team their attention to detail and care of my mother's complex health issues put our family and my mother at ease. Rebecca my mothers wound care nurse, Anna Marie one of her RNs we will forever be grateful for, not only did they do their job perfectly but the positive motivation and encouragement was above and beyond! No communicate between doctors, nurses, case managers and family. I feel like my grandma is being written off because of her age. My grandma's case manager lied to me about her care, had absolutely no clue about my grandmas health. Luckily I did from being up at hospital and talking to her nurses. (case manager told me my grandma oxygen was at 40 peecent for over a week, that she had talking valve on the entire time, this was NOT true. The staff are absolutely wonderful from the nurses, to aides, to patient advocates. There is a lack of communication on the doctors part. Make sure you contact the patient advocate to help you get the doctors attention.
I have been here for 35 days and the nurses and staff make it really comfortable and welcoming! I would recommend it!
We have had nothing but problems since my husband got there. Between the drs who ask a question then cut you off when you try to answer to the nurses who don't do anything in a timely fashion. I get you busy and there are lots of patients but waiting an hour before they come to help you is a little much.
