In my experience with Dr. Husman, there has been no improvement at all and she has allowed several spurious conclusions to go forward without challenge. Put simply, she is doing more harm than good and doesn't spend the proper amount of time in research to discover root causes of problems. Allowing patients to diagnose themselves and telling them what they want to hear helps no one. The prescriptions do not work, either, yet remain unchanged.
I have been under Dr. Husman's care for over 4 years. She is incredibly resourceful and isnt one to over medicate. In general as a psychiatrist they dont spend a ton of time talking and working through issues. it is mostly in and out to talk about symptoms and meds. Even with this being the norm, Dr. Husman still takes the time to talk to you and make sure you are safe and have support.
My experience with Dr. Husman was absolutely horrible. Not only is she degrading and condescending, but it is very clear that she does not have a single ounce of empathy. Very surprising since she works with individuals who often times are required to disclose very personal information to her. This woman seemed to have a very short temper and I could tell she was highly judgemental and only in it for the money. Not the type of person anyone would want to trust administrating medication. Easy to talk to and works to find personalized solutions. Doesn't overdo on medicating.
Not at all what I expected from a psychiatrist. I felt like I was next in line at the drive-thru. She was ready and willing to prescribe me medication within the first 10 mins of our appt. After running through a list of procedural questions; Trying to be open and honest with her wasn't natural. She was condescending and offered textbook answers I could have googled. She upped my dosage on her accord only to question me at my next appointment asking why I wanted an increase?! Did not mesh well!
She was condescending, changed medications and dosages without discussion, and basically acted as if it were a trial for her to have to actually talk to patients. She does not return calls. I was hospitalized due to drug interactions from her prescriptions. She didn't bother to return call, and couldn't work me in for a week. In the meantime, her nurse told me that I should stop taking everything - some of which were drugs that you should not stop taking unless you are weaned off.
