For the last several years I have spent my winters in Southern California. Since I am diabetic, I need to have my eyes examined periodically. So I looked for a capable ophthalmologist in San Diego. When I first got my eyes examined by Dr. Yamada several years ago, he examined my eyes very carefully and after the exam explained my eye conditions to me in a way that was easy to understand. Since then I've been going to see Dr. Yamada whenever I returned to Southern California.
I had a horrible experience with this doctor and his less than competent staff. He did an incomplete and ineffective exam, all he was interested in was rushing me into surgery where he makes the big bucks. He refused repeated requests I made for a return phone call and a more complete exam. When he referred me to a different specialist for a second opinion, I Googled the new doctor and discovered that he has horrible reviews, basically, calling him an arrogant, rude quack. I am not going back
This is the kindest, most gentle surgeon I have ever met. He returned me from near blindness in one eye to normalcy. He listens and informs completely. I would reccommend him to anyone in need of sight restoration.
