Best dog trainer - Dave van Garderen – We have used Kennelwood for Dog training for many years now and we prove our loyalty by driving almost 100 miles every week to be part of Dave's dog training class! Not only does he help train my sons service dog but he also played a huge role in the rescue and rehab of our Shilo Shepherd Angus. Great dog training!!!!! – After the passing of our senior dog a couple of years ago, my husband & I decided to adopt/rescue another dog. Excellent Pet Boarding Facility – Took my 3 dogs there for boarding while I was on vacation. They were there for over a week and everything was fine when I picked them up. One of my dogs had been there several years ago for day camp and as soon as I mentioned "camp" to him he started to go crazy with excitement. I would definitely recommend this facility for boarding needs.
Excellent Service – I have been using Kennelwood since moving to St. Louis and I am happy to share my experience of Kennelwood online. I got a little Westie early spring 2011. His first experience was their wonderful (and free) puppy playtime and puppy grooming. He was one of the first puppies to enjoy their newly constructed play area and exhausted himself he was having such an enjoyable time. Kennel cough – We boarded our two dogs here - an older pug and a young chihuahua - and picked them up on 8/4/11 and they both have kennel cough and the pug esp. is very sick. Apparently a lot of dogs have gotten sick. The pug also came home with a bladder infection. Kennelwood refunded half our boarding fee but were pretty cavalier (like hey it happens) and didn't even ask how our dogs were doing. Our dogs have all their vaccinations - we have used kennelwood for years but would never use them again
Check their work – Adequate for cat boarding (unfortunately, there's nothing in the US like British catteries, where the cats actually have room to run around) but if you ask for grooming, make sure they've actually done it. I got home--30 miles away--before I realized they had charged me for a nail trim and file that they hadn't actually done. Drag.
Response to "Not ok" Review – I just wanted to say that I don't personally know anything about your experience here. But after reading your review, you seem to be a little misinformed about the source of your puppy's roundworms. I am a Veterinary Technician Student and I know that the prepatent period for roundworms is about 3-4 weeks. Which means that the time between your puppy's infection to when he/she would start shedding worms or eggs in the feces would be 3-4 weeks. Not ok – I took my 5 month old puppy to get groomed at this Kennelwood a couple months ago. He was young and is non-shedding anyway so he just needed a bath, nail trim and ear cleaning. I called first, gave all my info and got a price quote - something like $25. When I got there they were very friendly and happy to play with my puppy. Not so much interested in talking to me about services and prices.
