Dr Farmer is very knowledgeable, experienced, kind, and professional. Her treatment of me over many years has helped enormously. She also has a special way of collaborating with me that gives me a sense of partnership.
Dr. Farmer is practically retired and her mind is no long show care for patient. She meets patient only virtually and for 5-10min of service, she charges a full session to insurance. If you need help, look for someone who still care.
She helped me navigate having multiple sclerosis, the ups and downs of the mental states and overtime has been an asset in helping me
I've been seeing Dr. Farmer for almost 10 years. She has been a fantastic doctor who has listened and worked with me throughout those years. Dr Farmer has been far more responsive than any doctor I have used in the past 20 years.
Dr. Farmer is pill pusher who sat idly by while my best friend turned into a full blown addict. She went as far as to tell her, over the phone, to up her dosage of a powerful mood stabilizer by 100 mg if she felt she needed it. She prescribed her a laundry list of narcotics without any real follow up or care. I have been a patient of Dr. Farmer for over 10 years. I had been previously treated for depression by six other professionals with no success. The side effects of their prescribed medications were noticeable and sometimes quite disturbing. Dr. Farmer's prescription was effective immediately. Dr Farmer gave me a false diagnosis, different from what over a dozen other mental health professionals have determined. She was condescending and talked down to me as though I was a child with no knowledge of mental health. She prescribed me something completely unrelated to my condition and blatantly told me my perspective of the causes of my own mental health struggles was wrong. I have been to many psychiatrists and therapists, and this doctor was by far the worst.
I started to see Dr. Farmer when I moved from Houston to Austin. I had tried many different antidepressants but on my very first visit with her she picked up on something and was able to add a med that has changed my life. I would recommend her to anyone. It took me a long time to find her but I won’t switch.
