I've had mixed experiences with State Farm, some good, some bad. I see people complaining about them raising our rates, and they do do that. I'm not sure if they have valid reasons for charging more. Usually when I call about the increases, they claim that it is because more accidents are occurring in my district. I don't really believe this explanation. I recently purchased a vehicle and 15 days later it was totaled. Be prepared as a paying customer to spend numerous days and hours ensuring that all concerned parties are submitting to the right agency/party the proper paperwork to ensure that your claim is in process, from the State Farm claims department to the Insurance adjustor, to the Lien Holder and even the Car Dealer that you received the vehicle from you as a paying customer will have to do all of the groundwork to ensure that they do their jobs. On April 16, I had to file a claim of vandalism. The sliding door to my home was smashed and glass was all over the place, inside my home and outside. In addition, I had to bedroom windows smashed where the same occurred with the glass. At first the representative stated there was nothing she could do to secure my home since it was Sunday and after 5pm. I loaned my car to a friend and she got rear ended, okay a big no no because she wasn't on the insurance but the level of crap I have had to go through this company is ridiculous. Yes they dropped me, TWICE. I had 3 cars I guess on 2 policies, really? Every couple of days for a couple of weeks after the accident someone from state farm was pestering me for my driver's information, haven't these people heard of the internet and information sharing. This is in reference to Tracy Hough-Hunters office at *** ***** *** ** Council Bluffs Ia. VERY DISHONEST AND DECEPTIVE OFFICE. With all the options available today for insurance, customer service and Trust are at a premium. This office failed at both miserably. Called after a minor collision with a family member. Local State Farm Agency (Whitfield Ins and Fin Svcs Inc) at Indianapolis 46204, Lic. #: ******* IN. Taking advantage of foreign customers. Does not provide sufficient information when selling a policy, and blames the customer for a job half done. Congratulations on State Farm Indiana to have the worst customer service in the entire United States.

We moved to State Farm for lower price for home, auto, and liability insurance. In 2nd year, we had two water damages and State Farm declined to renew our policy citing some CA State law. Our first water damage, per State Farm-certified plumber's letter, was result of a common construction issue (a nail in a pipe.) We are told State Farm documents falsely blame a faulty toilet seat.
