Pastramiiiiiiii Heaven
The food here is cheap and legit.
It's expensive for a sandwich but this famous place still might have the best pastrami in the world.
Chef Didier Elena eats here on his nights off. He loves the Katz's Pastrami.
The preferred beverage is Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray, a celery tonic that's a Lower East Side favorite.
best matzo ball.. avoid during the weekend as its packed! don't lose the ticket you get a door. they will want it back to let you leave.
Tip the carvers $1 before you order and get a sandwich big enough for two; a great choice is a combo of pastrami and corned beef on a club roll. If you know what's good for you, order it lean.
The 'strami sandwich is the main event, but the brisket and snappy hot dogs are worthy audibles (or additional orders if you're game for a belt-loosening meal).
The main draw is the black pepper- and coriander-laced pastrami, sliced to order by no-nonsense countermen, piled atop rye bread, and slicked with brown mustard.
Katz's Delicatessen has a 4.7 star rating with 3,496 reviews.
Katz's Delicatessen is open now. It will close at 10:45 p.m.
