I was deferred to Dr. Shimp after my usual doctor retired from practicing. Dr. Shimp is a breath of fresh air! She's incredibly knowledgeable and well informed in the latest treatments and medical advancements. With every visit she really takes the time to talk with me, going over any concerns or questions. Dr Shimp is the best doctor! Very compassionate - kind and caring. She listens to what you have to say and explains things very clearly! I would highly recommend her!
It has been two years now but she just happened to be the OBGYN on call as I was miscarrying my son at 16 weeks. Other doctors on call refused to see me but Dr. Shimp acted on my needs as a patient. I was so thankful for her care, compassion, and education on what was happening to my body. I suffered an infection and placenta removal but because of her it was not worse than it could have been. I switched to her as my primary after that, so thankful.
Dr Shimp was very attentive, answered all my questions, didn’t make me feel stupid. I really liked her manner and care. She seems very knowledgeable and kind while direct. Has a good sense of humor.
I had an appointment booked for over 2 months as a high risk patient to see this doctor. A week or so before my appointment as a new patient her staff calls me to move the appointment. I waited 20 minutes for someone to answer to call them back to reschedule and she cancelled my new patient appointment for a "supposedly c-section scheduled surgery time". Pretty sure Doctor was taking a vacation and not having surgery and her staff was less than impressive so I will not waste my time here.

Dr. Shimp is sweet and sincere. I was originally scheduled to see another physician. After waiting 12 weeks to get in for my first OB visit, the Dr I was scheduled to see called in sick. They offered to reschedule but it was another 12 weeks. Dr. Shimp had an opening available and offered me an apt THATS day. Needless to say, I LOVED HER! I decided to keep going to her. She always allowed adequate time for me, and answered all my questions. So thankful for her!
She was very rude seemed anmoyed and very dismissive of any basic questions. Even in a serious setting as a biopsy, after being a patient. At ppc for 8 years i will. Be going elsewhere. Triage staff also very rude and inadequate at document got a call back hours later by a triage nurse that had a totally different. Message. In her computer than i gav them.Dont waste your time go elsewhere.
