We stumbled across this gem of a restaurant while in La Crosse. We had the best service from Kristine and had the most amazing dinner. If you are looking for a great Italian restaurant, we highly recommend Kate's on State.

Amazing food and service last night. Such a romantic intimate special night for our Anniversary. We savored crab cakes, a huge fancy stuffed mushrooms, gourmet salads homemade unique salad dressings, Kate's famous fillet mignon-shrimp and ravioli and rustic pollo pasta dish. Food and experience was to die for! We only go once a year and we have never found a better steak. We felt staff were super attentive, personable, professional, and warm. AMAZING! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our waiter was Brian and he was spot on, friendly service and knowledgeable on the menu to make great recommendations. The filet is outstanding!!! I loved the teamwork of the staff and the bartender was terrific. Our dining experience exceeded my expectations. A bit over 50/person BUT well worth every penny! Highly recommend.

My friend and I went there last evening, and Jono (short for Jonathan) was our waiter - who served us with outstanding service the whole evening - ask for Jono if your ever there and you'll have a blast. The food is outstanding and the interior is dazzling, making you feel right at home. I've been in La Crosse, for a year now and I cannot believe that I was trying Kate's recipes for the first time. Where have you been my whole life?!

Went there just last night with my girlfriend needless to say ibwas not impressed rude service and very over priced. Despite that the food was not bad, but I don't think I'll be going back any time soon
The food was so good. I had the seafood ravioli. Wonderful! We will be back!!!
