6000 square feet of futuristic décor (inclusive of strategic lighting, metal rods and chic seating), and an A-list clientele give Katana a super-trendy vibe. If Japanese food is your thing and money isn't an issue, this is the place to be. With various seating spaces and dining areas like the Sushi Bar, the Robata (the grill), and the Sunset Room, you can take your pick as far as ambiance is concerned. The delicious offerings consist of an assortment of soups, rolls, main courses, tapas, sake and more, but the establi... read more

The Greatest – Visiting from NYC, we stayed at the Mondrian. We walked across the street to Katana and had our best night in LA. We actually went back two nights later. This place not only has incredible food, but the staff, from the hostess to our busboy, were all helpful and sweet. On our six nights in town, we went to all of the recommendations of our concierge and Katana was THe Greatest. We actually shot candid pictures for Gotham Magazine. We'll be back.
Worst and most pretentious – This has got to be the worst restaurant with the most undeserved hype. The food is over glazed with teriyaki sauce. The crowd is full of posers and wannabes. The service was slow and full of attitude. Way over priced for what you get. Definitely an over-hyped restaurant that will not survive on the quality of the food alone.
Ambiance is awesome – Service was great, loved the food and the bartender makes a great drink! Gotta sit on the patio and watch Sunset below ... really chill night.
Early Bird Gets the Service – A wonderful restaurant. Great ambiance, and the ingredients are fresh. Great service awaits the early bird, as you get the attention of all the staff. For the late diners, a crowd of fashionably beautiful people along with great food is yours to take! A great restaurant, often hard to find on Sunset.
Kinda worth the wait – Food is awesome- the wait for a table with a reservation makes me never want to return. Out of the 4 times I have been there, two times I have had a reservation and have been made to wait over an hour. They need to get that aspect of their service corrected
Great food & ambience – Good food, great ambience, hip crowd, relaxing view on the patio. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants. The servers are always helpful. The food is always good, especially the robata halibut and dynamite sushi. Definitely make reservations otherwise the wait will be a while.
Want good Maki? – Sakura House has better Maki, however the ambience is good, and it makes a fun night.
Don't miss the foie gras! – So good......the skewers are the way to go! The food is even better than the scene is, and that is rare on Sunset!
Best New Restaurant – My husband and I live in the Hollywood Hills and are amazed that it took this long for fine dining to come to Sunset Strip. We are regulars at Sushi Roku but Katana is so close. The new "skewer" cuisine is very inventive. We've tried everything from the lobster to the steak skewers and loved the dipping sauces. The sashimi was excellent and the braised pork from the kitchen is the best we've had. We've been back four times now, but our favorite was sitting at the Robata Bar where you can see it all happ... read more
