I had the same experience 9 years ago. He attempted to charge me for everything listed on my walk through (including a handrail that was never fixed). He also quoted $800 on plastic blinds that the track quit working on. His hollow attempts at a lawsuit(like his FBI rant below) were never a reality. The dude is a psychopath who violated legal rights while showing off a terminated lease for Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson while they were in college. Terrible Property Manager – As both an undergrad and graduate student at UT I have had quite a bit of experience with renting in the campus area and Karl Hendler was by far my worst experience. He is the only property manager I have used that I would NOT recommend. He responded abrasively to maintenance requests. Best property manager! – Karl Hendler is a dream landlord and property manager. KHP manages many, many properties in Austin, and I hope that the untruths being posted on CitySearch soon disappear. The negative statements simply are not true----I am a current tenant, and would rent from Karl Hendler again any time, anywhere.

City Search is also in violation of interstate commerce because they made these comments available throughout state lines. Psychpath, will screw u every chance he gets!! – Will keep your deposit, will screw you over and charge you for basic repairs, if they ever get done at all, terrible landlord. Any positive reviews on this site were probably made by Karl or one of his friends. No one who has rented from him would say anything nice about him and they surely wouldn't go on and on about how great he is. He is crazy and complains and yells at you when you need basic repairs. He cons people and is a liar. The absolute worst property manager I have ever dealt with, and I don't wish his services on anyone.
I dare you back up your claims – I dare the last two spineless cowards to use their names @ REAL e-mails!!! Karl should sue them for all they got!
WORST landlord I have EVER rented from. – I agree with JaneDoe - I have NEVER had to deal with such a TERRIBLE landlord as him. People like this make me wonder if I should be recording EVERYTHING in my life to make sure they won't try to steal something from me. He lies. He is the dictionary definition of a sociopath. NEVER rent from this man. He is hospital material.
