My son said his eye hurt badly. It was red, and swollen, and he couldn't see out of it. None of the doctors were able too see into his eye, so they sent us to Dr. Jamal. He prescribed steroids to reduce inflammation, and finally he could see that the retina had detached. Surgeons are often cold, and aloof, but Dr. Jamal is warm, and caring. When he emerged after repairing the retina, he said he was cautious, but hopeful. I listened to his words, but it was his smile, that told the story.
Came to get a second opinion and it saved my eye. Experimental treatment begun through Mayo and continued at Retinal Consultants. It is now standard practice. Dr Jamal is an Opthamologist but still at true MD in that he alerts to other areas needing medical attention as revealed by comprehensive eye exams.
