I had two previously delightful experiences there and went in on mothers day... called first, they told me it was first come first serve, no appts, with an hour wait...cool...waited an hour, walked in, they said they could take me immediately, sent one lady over, she was too impatient to wait for me to pick colors cause she walked away and never came back...then they sat me at not 1, but FOUR different stations THEN after an almost TWO HOUR WAIT...this male nail guy sits down and proceeds to turn the machine up to NAIL BURNI... read more

wanted to like this place I really did. The reviews were great and I was coming in with high hopes. Needless to say I left disappointed. I got a full set with shellac and 7/10 of my nails were bleeding when I left. The man doing my nails was sanding away at my cuticles so much that they were literally bleeding. Now 2 days later I have infections on 3 of my fingers and intense soreness. I can barley do anything with my hands without experiencing pain. I don't know why this nail salon has such bad reviews. I've tried many different salons over time, and this is the place I have gone to continuously for the last 4 years. Kang and Vicky are so personable, they feel like part of my extended family! I could easily go to some salons that are literally in my backyard, but I choose to make the trek to Kanwa. Kang has always done my nails with great attention to detail, takes his time and gets to know you as a person! Appreciate their great customer service so much.
I actually got a sufficient manicure but was there to have my daughter get a great shellac manicure for her 30th birthday. She was in the chair 20 minutes... me 60 minutes... she ended up getting us coffee at starbucks and then waited another 30 after that for me. No attention to detail! I have had manicures for 30 years now.. never had a 20 minute one before!
I'm giving this place 2 stars because while they did a good job on mine and my moms toes, they were awful with my 5 year old daughter. I paid $35 for a child to get a mani and pedi and frankly her nails look like she painted them herself. Also for the $35 they charge for a child you would think they would spend more than 8 minutes with her. She had to sit and wait over 45 minutes for me to get finished because the lady doing her nails rushed through.
