This was the Y my Poppa( Wes Walker) had run almost his entire adult life, where my dad and 3 uncles grew up, where my Nonnie felt at home during and even after my Poppa's passing. I helped coach the Walker family swim clinic that my family was so proud to come back to run at the Y and the fact that they were still embraced and wanted. My Poppa was proud of what he left behind when he retired and even more proud of the way the Kankakee Y continued to thrive when he was gone. Nice place. Pretty new. Not like the beat up old ymca I used to go to when I was a kid.
The pools are great and you can bring your kids.
Great experience and had a lot of fun in the Zumba class!
