Through the experience of living and working as a massage therapist on the island of Maui, I discovered lomilomi, the ancient form of Hawaiian healing massage. Dr. Maka'ala Yates , a Kanaka Maoli (of Hawaiian ancestry) is a highly respected Kumu Lomi Elima (master teacher of lomilomi). As my good friend and mentor, he has been fundamental in guiding me to a greater understanding of the principals of Hawaiian healing. He inspires the vision we represent.

Christine Simmons! Best of the Best! – This facial with Christine was by far the best I've ever received. I spend much of my time in Hollywood, CA and fortunately I make frequent trips to Portland... Christine consistently performs miracles on this 40+ years young face. Everytime I return to LA, the comments are that I look 10 years younger! Even the top notch spas in LA just don't compare to the care and effectiveness of this young woman and her magical touch. Thanks Christine... Look forward to returning soon.
Wonderful Facial !!! – Stopped by, had a facial. My skin feels so soft and clean I can't believe it !! Wonderful place that makes you feel confortable, warm and refreshed in the process too !! Try it !!

No "ALOHA" here! – After talking to the owner via phone, my visiting mother and I decided on Kanani for some relaxation. We arrived and were told curtly we were early, then taken to a small room to wait (no lockers or robes?). After my massage, covered in oil, I was told to get dressed. I had to request a robe and shower. We were told to have a "quick one" then hurried into a small bathroom with no lotions, hair products or hairdryer to use (this was a cold March day)! When leaving, we felt rushed, wet, and anything but rela... read more
Had a Great Time! – I visited Kanani Pearl last week and my visit was wonderful. A great escape during the cold months. Thank you for the best massage I've had in a long time.
Best of the Best – I love going to this spa. I don't go that often but when I do I want value and professional care. I get all that at Kanani Pearl. I LOVED the Hot Stones and spirit of these people who just seem to want to serve and make the experience a Best Ever. Thank you!!!
fake pearls – I wouldnt consider myself a spa regular. I rarely indulge in such luxuries and this experience makes me reconsider the whole experience. The website looked enticing, and it was in my neighborhood, so I checked it out. The atmosphere is nice with the water features and overall feeling of the place. What wasnt as nice was the general experience - I didnt feel like I was indulging in any "spirit of aloha". The staff wasnt very friendly and I didnt dig the rock thing and felt dirty when it was done. It felt like th... read more
