About this business
Through the experience of living and working as a massage therapist on the island of Maui, I discovered lomilomi, the ancient form of Hawaiian healing massage. Dr. Maka'ala Yates , a Kanaka Maoli (of Hawaiian ancestry) is a highly respected Kumu Lomi Elima (master teacher of lomilomi). As my good friend and mentor, he has been fundamental in guiding me to a greater understanding of the principals of Hawaiian healing. He inspires the vision we represent.

Never go to Kanani Pearl Spa - for attitude or anything else – I went in to buy a gift certificate for a massage for a good friend's birthday gift. I asked for a tour of the spa and halfway through the tour the manager almost fainted (literally) and had to be helped by an employee. So I was left at the register asking the owner about possible packages I could purchase. She was incredibly snooty and vague about the types of massages. Perfect Relaxing massage! – It is always hard to pick where to get a massage- but Kanani Spa was perfect! The waiting area was relaxing with the sound of running water, hot tea and snacks. The massage was tuned into my needs, the scrub, which was my first, made my skin feel soft and new. The massage creme was soothing and made the massage glide into my tense muscles that needed to be worked on! Great massages, Great scrub, nice environment!
Simply Incredible – Every time I go there they treatment me with such courtesy and care. Everything is so well done. The place is beautiful, the products they use are high quality and the services are always the best. They HAVE brought Aloha to Portland. Thanks
Favorite day spa in Portland – I have been going to Kanani Pearl for about two years and have yet to be disappointed. The services I have received include body scrubs, body wraps, massages, and facials. I highly recommed the Pono Spa Package, which includes a massage, facial and gratuity.
My fave – Beautiful & relaxing interior. I have received multiple Lomi Lomi massages from Kanani and I always enjoy them. Go early so you can relax in the waiting room to unwind before your treatment! All their soaps and lotions smell wonderful.
Christine Simmons! Best of the Best! – This facial with Christine was by far the best I've ever received. I spend much of my time in Hollywood, CA and fortunately I make frequent trips to Portland... Christine consistently performs miracles on this 40+ years young face. Everytime I return to LA, the comments are that I look 10 years younger! Even the top notch spas in LA just don't compare to the care and effectiveness of this young woman and her magical touch. Thanks Christine... Look forward to returning soon.
