Been seeing her for years . As a nurse myself I will say …. She’s good . Knows what she’s doing . After reading some your reviews I will add that she is not a therapist … her job is a psychiatrist. To treat and prescribe . She’s very smart and does her job well. I’ve never had an issue with her. She always asks how I’m doing if I’m ok etc etc. I don’t feel rushed as some of you are saying . Dr. Kammiel is that, wonderful & caring about her patients. People are very judgemental as a rule and very hard on their doctors. Dr. Kammiel tries to help as many of us as she can and has been a doctor for over 40 years. I see the doctor as one of her patients, and though she might seem abrupt to a few people, there is a concern in her that is not often in people. I truly appreciate Dr. Kammiel for her deep concern and not to want to push out what I might not want to talk about. She really does care about me as her patient.
Whatever you do please save yourself from this terrible doctor and do not go to her. She is the absolute worst. Talk about someone who abuses her power, I have called and spoken to her about how my son abuses the drugs she has prescribed him and she continues to prescribe them to him. She’s in it for the money she does not care about her patients. She needs to be stripped of her power before she seriously hurts a patient by blindly prescribing drugs to kids.
After saying her for so many years I couldn’t afford the copays which was $75 every visit why give my $75 where I could get my med from my family Dr every time I went to see her it was to get my Prescription nothing else on 9/7 I called to make an Appointment they asked 301 one questions because I’m was taking 3 Different medication I guess she assumed I’m abusing the medications so she decided not to see me I’m a mother of 2 that just need help dealing with life and situations on a regular basi
Dr. Kammiel is an excellent doctor. One of very few psychiatrists who still takes insurance and provides quality care. The average rate for a psychiatrist who does not take insurance is now about $500 a session. I’m sure she makes less than 25% of that. So she cant spend two hours with her clients - and is very direct, doesn’t play games, and gets to the point- diagnosis and medicating - that’s her job. HOWEVER, she does take that kind of time when she needs to. I refer to her often!
Agree with Kim A! She is so unprofessional! She literally yelled at me for fidgeting-have panic disorder & ADD!? She Said, “I missed one of my therapy appts. she wouldn’t see me again”-didn’t intend on missing any appts-I didn’t need added pressure either... I didn’t want to see this dr in the first place- I was warned-but, of course she was the only Dr. w/appt-I needed meds- she wouldn’t refill all my meds-I ran out & had severe withdrawal w/high BP&tachycardia that sent to the ER. Never again!
I found Dr. Kimmiel to be very responsive and compassionate. As another reviewer said, she is knowledgeable, experienced, but very no-nonsense. While you may not get too warm and fuzzy, she listens to your concerns and desires and allows you to be a partner in your care. She helped me wean off some meds with great results. I can highly recommend Dr. Kimmiel. .
Dr. Kammiel is an experienced physician who can make a diagnosis quickly and accurately. She is not warm and fluffy. If that's what you need, go elsewhere. She is a doctor who tells you what's wrong and prescribes treatment options. I left after my first visit with hope. Second visit even more so. She is there to guide your path towards mental wellness as long as you are willing to work towards it. She also highly recommends therapy with a social worker/psychologist..."talk therapist".
Horrible Dr! She should not be in the profession. Rude and 0 compassion for her patients. I called her because I was experiencing horrible side effects from medication SHE prescribed. When I started to describe what was going on, she cut me off yelling " I don't have time for this "and tried to hang up on me! Really ?????? What kind of licensed professional does this??
