I've worn the same pair of MICROspikes through three Alberta winters and can't say enough good things about them. They are quick and easy to put on/take off and provide excellent traction. I especially appreciate them around this time in the season, when daytime temperatures get high enough to start a melt and nighttime temperatures get low enough to turn the melt into a layer of ice. And if conditions are just right for wearing MICROspikes for winter hiking in the mountains, there's nothing quite so fun as coming back down.... read more
Amazing product, great for early and late ice
I have two Kahtoola products: MicroSpikes and FLIGHTdeck snowshoes. The traction the MicroSpikes provide when on ice is unbelievable. I first tried them at a winter equipment demo day and was so impressed with them that I order them the next day. The snowshoes provide the best of both worlds. You have the flotation when you need it; when it isn't necessary you can "unclick" the deck to travel on hard-pack while still maintaining traction.
I run a fishing guide service in Northern Wisconsin, early ice and late ice are always slippery conditions and Kahtoola Micro Spikes are the best cleat that I have found!!!! They really bite into the ice!!!!!!

Bought some microspikes years ago and have put a few hundres miles on them running. Love them. I also have a pair of Kahtoola snowshoes that I race in. Live those too. Great products.
