I’ve had right shoulder DISCOMFORT for so many years. After a year of steroid shots from Dr. Hardin, (highly recommend) I ended up having an MRI to confirm my many shoulder issues. Dr. Veenstra explained the total shoulder reversal replacement and I did it! Tough surgery/ recovery for me but not the fault of Dr. Veenstra. That was May 2025. Ugh.
I was shocked by how I was handled by Dr Veenstra during a routine exam. He seemed nice enough until he grabbed my leg so tight that his grip hurt. I felt like a mannikin doll when he started twisting. I have knee cap problems but I do not suffer typical knee pain. I guess he wanted to prove me wrong. When I winced in pain because of his grip on my leg, he ignored me and kept twisting causing my knees to swell and hurt. I have not had to ice my knee down like that since I used to run. Dr Veenstra explained the injuries in my shoulder and the options for treatment, which helped me make a choice. I feel that he listened to my concerns.
Dr.Veenstra was attentive, kind, and skilled. My shoulder replacement has eliminated the pain I had. I plan to have the other side done in the future. 10/10.
