Best stylist – When I first moved to Chicago I spent several months looking for salon and have several horor stories to show for it. Not knowing what to expect, I forged on in my quest and entered Joseph Michaels only to be greeted by some friendly, smiling faces and some great chocolate! The Best Stylist----Daniel Paterno – If you are looking for fabulous hair, go to Joseph Michael's and make an appointment with Daniel Paterno. He is a GREAT stylist!!!! I have course, curly hair that is difficult to work with and I spent years "fighting" with my hair. Once I met Daniel, my hair struggles ceased to exist. I now have a fun style (yes, the ponytail is gone!) that looks great anywhere from the golf course to work to a black tie affair. My Great Stylist Daniel! – I love to tell my story about Daniel Paterno, back when I was working in a fast food veggie restaurant w/long straight hair, Daniel would come in for lunch, and he asked me if he could cut my hair for his exam. What a great opportunity for me! That was over fifteen years ago and I am still going to Daniel. He is great, I get compliments on my hair often. He is great with color, and he is a great person!
A place to feel pampered and pretty – The best! I don't know how else to describe it. My hairdresser Amy Everett makes it so much fun. She cares about my likes, listens to what i want, knows enough about my lifestyle and ability (I am blowdryer challenged) to suggest some great ideas. I never feel rushed. I Love My Hair, stylist Dan Paterno – I'm an African American female who is very particular about WHO does my hair. Well, I was referred to Dan Paterno of Joseph Michael's Salon by a friend (I liked her hair) so, I thought I'd give him a try. Let me just say, MY HAIR IS FABULOUS. No attitude at this salon. – There is no attitude at this salon. Everyone is nice,very knowledgeable, it's very clean, and the staff is on time. They always have great drinks too, like the hot apple cider with a touch of grand marnier. I would highly recommend this salon. I have been going there for 10 years!
High recommendations for VESNA – I've been having my hair cut, styled and colored by Vesna for several years. I love my hair and receive many compliments. Vesna listens to you and makes suggestions as to what would look best with the shape of your face and lifestyle. I followed Vesna from a small salon in my neighborhood to Joseph Michael's. Great Haircut with Charles – Moving from the burbs left me with having to find a new hair stylist. After reading others were pleased with Charles' haircuts, I decided to give him a try. I was more than pleased. He spent lots of time discussing what style would look best and even gave me a large sample of a shampoo he used that helped my hair look less brassy. The salon is very relaxed, the staff is quite friendly, and their prices are reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised and plan to return for more cuts with Charles.
Great cut and style from Charles – I have never written a review on anything, but I had such an amazing cut/style from Charles that I felt it was only fair to let others know (and to give Charles the praise he justly deserved).
