Dr Jones came w high recommendations. Unfortunately I am having to leave my current psychiatrist for logistic reasons. First There is no option to meet the doctor first...even paying cash. I am particular about my physicians...I need to at least meet them to see if we are compatable. Office staff said they have never heard of that. She was very rude. Then to make an initial appointment you must fill out a form to see if the doctor will agree to even see you. Nope...he will not be my doctor
Dr. Jones is the best psychiatrist in the KC metro area! He's very gentle, caring, dedicated (he calls back whenever I called after office hours almost immediately after I called him), he stays there and actually talks to you and truly offers great advice and will guide you through your psychiatric problems. His sessions are, unlike most psychiatrists, stay till the end of the session and sometimes after without checking his clock for you to leave! He also doesn't try to push meds on you!
Have been seeing Dr. Jones for over 10 years, once a month for checking medication effect on my body. At times we have increased to 2 times a month when I've needed more intensive non-drug therapy. I have found him very intelligent and insightful. He has a pleasant, sometimes comical, way of asking questions that gets me to look deeper into myself freely. Mind to mind, our communication styles and common background of education match well.
I definitely would recommend Dr. Jones to others. He is very attentive and spends time inquiring about my life, psychiatric issues, and medications. He does not rush the time and I feel he has a good idea of how I am doing by the end of the session.
