I wasn’t a patient at this practice but I was a patient of Dr Russell’s when he was at Hopkins and I was dealing with thyroid cancer. Not only is he so kind, but man is he skilled! The scarless thyroidectomy is amazing. He has a wonderful bedside manner as well and is very down to earth. I totally recommend him! All around fantastic doctor!!
My experience with Dr. Russell has always been excellent. He has always treated me with respect and compassion. Appointments were never rushed and the focus was always on my health and my concerns. He was open and honest over what to expect and never talked down to me. I am pleased with my surgery and should I need surgery on the remaining lobe, Dr Russell will be my choice. Thank you Dr Russell, you are the best!
Dr. Russell seems great. I had anxiety going into surgery, but I remembered I was at John Hopkins, why would I worry? My gut was right. My surgery was several years ago and I continue to have awful anxiety and panic attacks that I have never experienced before. I woke up from surgery unrecognizable to my family. I had the scarless thyroidectomy with Dr. Russell November 2020. I chose the scarless thyroidectomy to avoid deformity of the neck from a neck scar. The result of the surgery is that it has deformed my chin bc of internal scar tissue that has changed the shape of my chin making it look lumpy and pointy, my neck skin is tethered to the muscles of my neck which means every time I swallow it looks like my skin is grabbing onto the muscle underneath, my lower left lip is asymmetrical I am assuming bc of how he sewed the incision... read more
Dr Russell and his team were fantastic. After my preliminary exam Dr Russell took time to explain my condition, what the surgery would entail and any options available. On the day of my surgery his team was highly professional and competent. They took time to explain each step and showed great compassion.
