Dr. Spanyer is one of the most professional, caring and sympathetic people I’ve known. He is extremely knowledgeable, remembers his patients and their circumstances and is kind, optimistic and far-thinking. I admire him, recommend him and enjoy speaking with him.
For 17 years I have lived with a bad hip replacement. I had seen five orthopedic surgeons with no answers as to why I couldn't lift my leg. Dr. Spanyer looked at x-rays and immediately saw that the implant cup was rubbing on my hip flexor tendon. A hip revision was performed and I am on the mend. Thank you Dr. Spanyer, you are my friend ??.
This was my first visit with Dr. Spanyer. He made me feel at ease about left knee replacement surgery. I was quite anxious before the appointment.

Dr. Spanyer has performed two joint replacements on me (hip and knee). He is a phenomenal surgeon who also has a wonderful bedside manner. I was back to work and physical activity much sooner than most others who have had similar surgeries. I pass on his name whenever a friend or colleague is seeking an orthopedic surgeon for lower extremity joint replacement.
