You don't have to be inside at JoJo to absorb the jazz scene. The house band performs with its back to the big front window of this small bar and restaurant, so passersby on the street can enjoy the music without entering. But there are lots of good reasons to go inside, including a friendly staff and often stellar music. There's live jazz from 9:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. every night except Mondays and Fridays. Thursdays are particularly promising, with the Thad Wilson group holding down a regular slot-no cover.

Great live band! Was let down by the service though. No one greeted us at the front door and we walked in for seating. We also ordered drinks but felt there was almost no alcohol. Overall great vibes but service could be improved. Maybe it was a bad day, so I'll visit again.
JoJo’s is an absolute gem in DC! The live jazz band created the perfect vibe — soulful, energetic, and unforgettable. The drinks were strong and well-crafted, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy amazing music, and feel right at home. Highly recommend for a fun night out with great food, great drinks, and even better atmosphere!
Came from Baltimore for a 5:30 set with no reservation. I was informed I would be charged a cover, and would be expected to order food and that there was a two hour table limit. We agreed ordered apps, and awaited the show....no one informed us that the 5:30 show was cancelled, and no information was available about the next show. No one seemed to care.
