Great Italian. – This is my favorite Italian Chain restuarant. I great variety on the menu for food and wine. Bar selection is great. Must try it if you haven't been.
Reliable, consistent Italian fare in an ideal setting for business lunch or casual dinner. – In Short If you don't mind a little noise, the casual, open-kitchen setting, replete with faux-rustic stone walls, wooden peasant-style seating and piped-in Sinatra nicely sets the tone for a broad, Southern Italian-inspired menu. Bland – I went there for dinner, and the waiter looked surprised everytime we asked for something. Ie, a drink or bread. The shrimp scampi was bland and there was food in the plate that was not on the menu. I would have made a different choice if I had known. The waiter was slow, and the bellini was gross.
By Far the best of the chains – Great food (especially the Italian Nachos), great service and great atmosphere. All at an amazingly low price. What more could you ask?
Chain food, and lower then even OliveG. – There was not a single thing interesting or inspiring about the food or service. I wouldn't say the food was bad, but there was just nothing here to set it apart. And it's a shame this website allows such blatant restaurant padding of reviews. I mean, 4 pages of 10's?! Could it be even more obvious?
Chain food supreme – This is just your run of the mill overpriced, mega portions, chain restaurant, I felt like I was in a pig sty, just waitin for someone to through the slop in, at least I could have seen a feedin frenzy then. I felt like thay wanted me in out and paid in under 20 minutes, scripted wait staff and upselling are such a turn off.
Brodie, BAD Service – I have tried Carino's 3 times now hoping for better service. I always leave dissapointed. The wait staff is rude and lazy. There is no reason why an inexpensive resturant has to have such a poor wait staff.
Not Ready for Prime Time – Maybe it's because it's newly opened (620 & Anderson Mill), but this Carino's doesn't have it's act together yet. All the courses came out at the same time, and while just starting the entree, the waitress is shoving the dessert tray in your face. Service wasn't friendly, the check was padded, and the food is average Italian at best. The prices are low, which I guess supports the quality of the experience.
yum – what i love about carinos is the great food at an even greater price! the lasagna is the best in Austin, i promise. Try Try Try the italian margarita too!!!
