For a Penn State Hospital this place sucks!!! Freaking make a 78 year old in active AFib that had surgery earlier in the day and has a pinched nerve sit for hours in a damn hallway while they are taking lower acuity patients back to rooms!! Haven't even seen a damn doctor or nurse yet! DO BETTER!!!! Should be on a heart monitor!!!!
Been here for two hours so far and she hasn't even gotten an ibuprofen when she's having chest pain and can't breathe. A hospital that performs this poorly should be shutdown.
These people were so kind and helpful. I really appreciate their efforts to take care of me when I was sick and terrified!
If you don't have enough problems and want to spend an unknown amount of time in a windowless room while the nursing staff play games, eat, and disregard the patient-attending "sitters" who must themselves struggle to flag down a staff member--any staff member-- so that they themselves can occasionally use the toilet, this is the place is for you. If you are a masochist or simply enjoy sitting in a windowless room while the nursing staff play games and eat, this is your ER. It's unfortunate that the path to some of the hospitals best units, such as behavioral health, leads through this hell-mouth.
