I would like to personally thank Dr. Porterfield for taking such great care of me. His office was able to move up my appointment after multiple complications and he was able to do my procedure the next day. His bedside manners were wonderful and he was very easy to talk with. He explained everything in great detail and in terms that I could easily understand. He spoke with my husband post procedure and did not rush him in anyway and was very informative. Dr. Porterfield is one of the best Endocrine surgeons I know. I've seen many and his knowledge far outweighs all others. I've had 2 surgeries with him and each time pre and post-op care was excellent. He is willing to answer any questions and never dismisses concerns. He is up to date on new technology and is a great teacher to his students.
I cannot express how amazing Dr P has been the past 2 weeks. He speaks to me personally on his own phone. He has been amazing friendly and informative. By far the experience I've ever had with a surgeon. He was working on my husband. We drove to UAB last night and he fixed my husband right up and he feels 1000X better. Communication means so much to patients. However his attentiveness to my husband and even my concerns are off the charts. There's not many like him out there. Highly HIGHLY recommend. . Did not admit to knowledge of mistakes during robotic surgery leading to a year of surgeries/ hospitalizations/ chest tube/ and by nuclearmedicine finding his errors and finally a Thoracic Surgeon correction of his operative errors.
